Hey guys,
Over the next little bit you'll see that we've replaced our user badges with an updated, easier to read version. Not a huge change, but one which some users have been asking for and has been badly needed.

Even more exciting is that we took this opportunity to create a new user level call "Senior Members". This group is attained once you hit a certain level of longevity, post count, and reputation. In essence, it's the group that comprises those who have been truly dedicated to the Mac-Forums community. Giving them some special recognition is just our way of saying "thanks" and encouraging more people who want to one day attain their lofty status. :)

Cool. Like the new "Staff" badge. However, the "Member" one looks a little blah. Oh well, more incentive to participate and stay here, right? ;)

Haven't seen the Senior Members badge yet, but then again this is the first post I've read since the changes. haha

Well to give you an idea, only 14 people meet the criteria for Senior Member right now, there are a bunch of you that are very close though ;)

Also should clarify, some of our Premium Members also meet the "Senior Member" criteria, but the Premium badge out-ranks the Senior badge in the back-end flow. :)

For those interested, maybe we could get a visual of what all these new badges look like. Just so it's all in one place. *shrug* Just a thought... :)

Much better

I should say that I have recently been using some windows forums for some troubleshooting and some of them are truly woeful compared to the Mac Forums, especially those that insert hyperlinks inside posts, to highlight keywords that then go to ads

Heck - just made a post and seen I am a senior member.

I'm truly flattered - thanks

FWIW, you should check out http://overclockers.com if you need Windows or PC help. They're one of our sister sites and have a great group of mods over there as well.

Thanks for the tip, I will check them out.

I was looking for drivers and kept going to sites that look like they have what you want but really just want you to download crapware

Nice work to the Mods and Admin OOps Staff ;)

These new badges look great and add just that something little more to the forum. . . . .

Well done . . . . . .

Cheers

PS Is it taking time to hand out all the new badges ?? See some members still have the old M-F Badge.

It would be cool to have intermediary titles going from Member to the top... Sort of like: Jr. Member- Member- Seasoned Member- Senior etc.. And some color coding would go a long way to add that lil' sumthin IMHO.

Doug

P.S. I feel the font is pretty bland. Maybe that is what was meant earlier. And maybe it would look better in a more roundish tag. I'd be happy to lend a hand with that btw ;)

Very nice, my only gripe is with the "Staff Badge"
The bottom looks blurry due to the grey stroke that is lighter than bottom gradient color.
