I have been using the standard Apple Mail client on my Macbook for 3 years without problems. Recently however it failed to display my sent messages unless I closed the app whilst the sent message folder was selected, and then re-open the app. When I re-opened Mail, the sent messages were displayed until I clicked on my inbox, after which, when I returned to the sent messages folder, I found that the sent messages were no longer displayed. Mail then refused to quit unless I used the "force quit" option. This situation persists. Does anyone know why this should occur and how I can fix the problem.
Regards, Tony Xpat.

Hmm.... no answers here I guess. Anyone got any suggestions as to where else I could try?

Try Repair Permissions and if no joy, use Pacifist to re-install Mail.

I am guessing a corrupted Sent mailbox. In the years I have been using Mail I have not had that issue.

One thing I would try if this were me is: when you get the Sent to appear, highlight it and click on Mailbox in the bar up top and on Rebuild. See if that helps.

OK, thanks for the info. I got so irritated by the whole thing that I installed, and am now using Thunderbird which is working fine. Thank you for taking the time to reply.
