How about this G4?

Nope...way too much. With shipping the price is close to $100 bucks. I paid $30 for one about a year ago...and believe me...they haven't gotten more valuable since then!;)

You're doing a lot of "e-Bay fishing". No need to post "what about this one" or "what about that one" if the price is over $50 bucks.:)

Like I said earlier...in many cases it's the shipping that ruins these older desktop deals from e-Bay.

When you want to purchase, do not limit yourself to a time scale as this may well force you to pay too much. The Quicksilver was too dear, particularly is you consider it only had a CD drive, and not a combo or superdrive.

As advised earlier, the MDD are the best of the G4's.

Yes, I'm trying to remind myself that i don't need it right now at this very moment, so I'll check every day or so for new posts on Ebay. Thanks.

Hey.. there's a person who just posted here about not wanting the G5 iMac they just bought. I see this as an opportunity for both of you.

Seems pricey. I'll pitch a deal. How much you think?

EDIT: Well not pricey for what it is, but pricey as in out of my price range. And also, it seems the other guys have talked her into getting the install disk she needs. And at the moment, I have $50 saved up and should be getting 20-40 more dollars this weekend sometime. But, would she take 90 dollars for something she bought for around 200? Haha.

Who knows.. It's worth at least trying to discuss it with her isn't it? If it's a no go, at least you tried.

Just asked if she'd consider selling it.

That's awesome. I think I'll save my money a couple more weeks or so, and maybe get one similar to that.

I thought that your projected budget was $90. The computer "Togglemeister" bought came to a total of $291.00

You gonna rob a bank??;)

The nice thing about my late 2005 g5 machine is running leopard (10.5.8) which has version 10 of flashplayer. However I can't run firefox 4 because thats intel only. My safari is version 5.0.5. Its surprisingly faster than my g4 (2001) tower.
The G5 tower parts are still available through apple reseller stores for the next few months.
The latest video card that you can upgrade to I believe is the Nvidia 7800 GT and the Ati x1800 ?
Max ram is 16gb too!

16Gb RAM? That's great, i'd upgrade that. And I use Google Chrome. :)

This is a little better. He's throwing a keyboard and mouse. Its either a MDD or a FW800. Its easy to swap that CD drive for a dvd one from OWC.

Very nice, and more into my price range. It seems today I HAD to spend some money so I'm even more short, but again, I may get 40 dollars or so soon. Thanks everyone, and if you find any good deals, always let me know. :)
