Alright, so right now I use a 2006 MacBook with a 1.83 GHz Core 2 Duo processor and with 2GB of 667 MHz DDR2 Ram. I want to upgrade.

I want a notebook good for Final Cut Express, and that will work with Final Cut Pro X when it comes out. I also want a computer that can run some small games good (like Minecraft, or Portal). My current MacBook runs them, but not very well.

I am trying to decide between the baseline 15in MacBook Pro and the current white plastic MacBook. Should I get a MacBook with a 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo and 4GB of 1066 MHz DDR3 Ram, or a 15in MacBook Pro with a 2.0 GHz Quad-Core i7 and 4GB of 1333 MHz DDR3 Ram?

If you could help, that would be awesome. kthxbai.

There is no comparison between the two. If you're going to invest that kind of money, you definitely want to go with the i7/2.0, which is going to blow the 2.4GHz C2D out of the water and then some.

If you dont want to spend the money on the MBP then the macbook is still a very decent computer. It should be getting a refresh sometime this summer though. Probably will be specd the same as the baseline MBP 13 when it does. The i5 is nice but the graphics are actually slightly worse than the current MacBook for some games due to only having the integrated intel graphics.
