Perhaps the credit card has expired?

My wife ran into this once. She uses an ATM card on her account and accidentally ran out of funds. The card was rejected when Apple tried to charge the account until she had the funds and reentered the 3-digit security code (on the back of the card) in her settings.

Hope this helps!

Hmmm. Well if you have been able to verify your billing info, then it can't be a matter of mistyping the password. Does this occur on your Mac and your iPhone, or just one of them? Have you tried the other if just one?

Try simply reentering all the card info in account settings. That might reset it.

i have deleted all the info and re-entered it and it is on my ipod, ipad, and on my computer. also, my wife clicked the e-mail us button on iTunes to report the problem and is now getting porn popups out of nowhere on safari and firefox which she JUST downloaded. we are about to do a fresh reboot of her mac. this is all happening on two different laptops too. thanks again for all of the ideas!

The specific error message you're getting might help.

error is
"A valid address is necessary to purchase. Click on billing info to go to the address page and correct your address."
went to the page, went to apple's version of the page on their site and nothing is working. thinking about switching from using my mastercard to using paypal but if there's been a breach in security I don't want to expose my paypal as well.

Have seen a couple of folks this worked for them.

Go to your account in iTunes - remove the zip code and put it back in.

ymmv - Didn't work for others.

If that doesn't work, you might try the same thing logging into your Apple account - here.

And I'd probably have your wife try it, so that a U.S. IP address is logging into it since you're overseas currently.
