Do you have more than one computer on your home network? Is DHCP enabled in the router and on all the computers? What Router do you have or how are you connecting to the internet and computers?

Do you have more than one computer, iPhone, or iPad set up on your home network? Each has to have it's own different IP address.

If that is the case, you'll need to change the IP address for either your Mac or the other device that is using the same IP address as your Mac.

This usually happens when you assign one device a static IP that is within the range that is normally handed out and it is sleeping. Then you connect another device that gets the pre-assigned IP, and has priority over the sleeping computer once it's woken back up.
