Like it so far a lot. Only issue so far is Safari here on Mac Forums stuck in iPhone mode! That is a known issue with the forums software they are working on. So I will have to like Bobtomay, use Atomic Browser especially to do the Moderator commands.

Congrats on the new toy D.

Should be able to use Safari in the forum without it being in the mobile version on the iPad now.

But, Atomic browser is nice having the tabs instead of the Safari method.

Congrats on getting your iPad. You must be in "hog heaven" with that nice new "modern" piece of Apple hardware!!!:)

Not sure if you saw a thread I started a month or two ago...it regarded "battery life degradation" in the iPad 1.0's...one year later. Almost everyone replying said that their runtime on a full battery charge was still right around 10 hours (the amount claimed by Apple). So considering that these things run on battery power a large proportion of the time (a lot of recharging of the battery...thus a lot of battery cycles)...that's pretty darn good 1 year later.:)

p.s. Here's the link for the thread in case you're interested in reading it. :)

I have a quick question, I Have heard of users saying to stay away from IOS 4.3.3 as people are having Wifi issues. Is IOS 4.3.3 working fine for everyone?

I didn't bother updating my iPad since there wasn't really any point to. I did update my iPhone though, but haven't had any issues.

I'm running 4.3.3 on my iPod Touch and haven't noticed any WiFi issues. It's not the iPad but I imagine that the chipsets might be similar.

EDIT: Seems like the iPad 2, iPod Touch 3G, 4G and iPhone 4 all use a Broadcom BCM4329. Not that this explains the differences but interesting nonetheless.

I think I am just going to go ahead and install it then. The issues could be people as it seems like there is a bunch of complaints every time Apple updates anything.

Will post back with the results.

Forgot to ask - iPad 1 or 2? I assumed it was an iPad 2 but you mentioned it was a refurb (could be a 1 then). Either way, I've heard that both perform really well. I have a 4G iPod Touch (same A4 as the original iPad) and it flies.

iPad 1. Did not see any iPad 2 Refurb's and especially for the price I got this one for. It's like brand new. Looks new, smells new, packed like new! :D

4.3.3 is installed and checked all my Access points. Works like before.

I actually just ordered my 64G WiFi Ipad 2 yesterday from Apple, also included the black smart cover. So looking forward to that shipping. I ordered the new 27" iMac last week and that just shipped yesterday - hope that iPad is just as quick.

On a side note, I ordered that black matte StealthArmor case for my new iPad. Anyone install this yet? Just wondering if it is a pain to install or fairly easy?

I saw those wifi complaints also. Not experienced it here either.

Just the same issue I've always had in this house - the wifi goes in and out starting about 40-50' from every router I've ever tried (less for some) - and thus why I set up separate networks at opposite ends of the house for quick switching.

Bob, Works fine here also. I see no difference at all since the update in WiFi signal.

Also Safari is now working full screen on Mac Forums! Don't know what was up, but it started working that way before I installed the update.

That is strange on your house and all the routers.

One more thing I figured I would post here. Been finding apps for the iPad. One I really liked that was free was Mocha VNC Lite. Really wanted a VNC client for the ipad and a friend told me to try this. Works great. Logged into my iMac and was amazed seeing the whole desktop on the Ipad. Everything worked and was clickable. Not bad for free!!

I will post later in the apps thread when I use some of the apps I have installed which ones I like.

I just checked my email this morning, and my Ipad2 has already shipped from China. I ordered it yesterday afternoon. I will be tracking it daily. I can't wait!
