i bought my macbookpro 4 months ago\
a week ago, it started lagging, not showing its best performance.
i use protool, it gave me 1 bad problem encountered. when i wanted to verify disk, it tells me you should start your laptop from installation disk..
and now, it just crashed, the screensaver became more purple, and nothing works but the toolbar on the top right. A new logo was added and it was waiting for backup, so i bought a new harddisk, plugged it in, and pressed backup now. and the spinning beach ball has been turning since non-stop... I dont know if it is backing up or not... I need guidance, what do i DO ? please help... i have some very important docs that i cant afford to lose

Did you buy this computer new 4 months ago...or is it a used computer that is "new to you"?

Thanks,

Whenever you have important docs.....get an external HDD and case and backup.

could be the hard drive. When mine did that i backed it up online and on an external drive. I dont trust external drives cause mine corrupted while i was waiting to get my old computer back and i lost everything.

Pro Tools? what did the message say

and nothing works but the toolbar on the top right. A new logo was added and it was waiting for backup, so i bought a new harddisk, plugged it in, and pressed backup now.

that is time machine, its fine

when i wanted to verify disk, it tells me you should start your laptop from installation disk..

okay, so either take it to the Apple Store, or do this, and run a Verify and Repair on the main volume, if you want to have a go for yourself.
