Here is my HTPC running Win 7 Pro. It has a Core2Quad 2.67Ghz (4 cores - 4 threads - this chip is just over 2 yrs old now - not over clocking this one) and a lowly GeForce 9300.

OpenGL 5.80 fps
CPU 3.00 pts

The graphics is fine for a media player, but could stand a refresh. Have never run a serious game on it.
And the reason I put this monster (well, it was a screamer at the time) in a HTPC, it'll move a 40GB disc to drive in about 25 minutes and a 7GB disc in about 6 minutes.
I'm sort of glad to see it's still holding it's own except against the 4 core iSeries and the Xeons.

(I'd be sort of curious to see how fast the i7 is at moving disc to disk and what app you're using, if anyone is doing that on their Mac - while staying within the boundaries of the community guidelines)

Those Core 2 Quads are still going strong among gamers. seem to be robust little chips.

pretty cool that its on par with a dual core i3 2010 iMac.

Ill add your HTPC in the next update. :)

Not quite up to my Core2Quad, but the HD3000 is doubling the video card in my HTPC.

hmm, not overly impressed by that CPU score. its underneath an iMac i3. but then it is ultraportable, and it outclasses the core 2 duos.
