Happening on two? Use the same install disc on both and installed any new software on both lately?

If so remove the software and see if that improves things.

Sorry,, I should have given more info. The all in one G5 just started doing this and I do recall putting some different RAM in it, Maybe with I'll start there wth this Mac.

On the Quicksilver, I cloned a copy of a hard drive with " Carbon Copy" maybe that cloned copy hard drive is the culprit. hmmmm...?????? I will get back to you.

Well there you are. Bad or wrong type of memory is responsible for many kernel panic attacks.

Where did you get the memory for your G5 iMac from ~ a Mac specialist as Macs use low density memory and PC's generally use cheaper high density? Most PC shop proprietors would not known what memory to put in a Mac.

What version of OS X did you clone for the Quicksilver? Quicksilver with less than an 867MHz processor can only handle up to OS X.4.11.

Oh no !! ...I opened the I Mac G5 (all in one) and there appears to be an expanded cap with a little brownish powder on top of the capacitor. Is there any point in continuing trying to fix this Mac...I really don’t want to put a lot of money into this particular Mac...??!!
