There needs to be another category (more than one). I use three:

Mellel (academic writing)
MS Word 2004 (portability to Windows)
NWE 2.5 (longing for the good old days)

That is why I chose Other. I use Office, NeoOffice, Appleworks (on rare occassions) and other various and sundry apps.

Strangely, none of the choices are technically word processors; they're all "suites" that include word processors. :mac:

Depends where I am.

At work Apple Works everytime, since my eMac I use is not that nippy and Word 2004 can take a while to load when all I need to do is make a quick note for a customer.

At home even though my PowerBook is presently in for repair (sobs) I will use TextWrangler or TextEdit for CSS/HTML/PHP work or Microsoft Word 2004 for complex document editing. However for normal every day documents, I still chose MS Word 5.1 which I had for the IIfx.

And it seems from chatting to clients this week, I am far from the only one :)

Howdy, Vicky. I'm surprised that Word takes a while. I use an eMac 1.25 GHz with 512 MB RAM and Word 2004 and it loads in 8 sec, Mellel in 7 sec., NWE in 10 sec.
