Ipod touch not turning on when plug in for charging

I seem to have a real bad problem with my ipod touch. when I plug in my ipod in both the computer and wall outlet, it does not turn on with the apple logo, its nothing but a black screen. I even left it plug in the wall outlet for over 30 minutes, still the same issue. for a test I use a flash light to see if I could see any images on the screen, none, complete darkness. I know it could not be a battery issue because, befor the problem began I had charge the ipod minutes before so it is fully charge. Help!

Have you tried holding the home and wake/sleep button down for 10+ seconds to force a hard reboot?
