I'm starting a new job and will be traveling alot and I'd like to keep a daily journal. I think it would be alot easier to just type it on my computer than to carry around an extra pad and pen in my bag.

I didn't know if there were any good Apps for this or not. I figured the easiest thing to do would be to just keep a text file, either Word or Text edit and keep adding to it daily.

The issue of security comes to mind too. Not really sure the best way to protect the document.

If anyone has any experience doing this on their Mac, I'd love to hear how you did it and what your thoughts are.

Might look at Chapters also. I use it and it works well--has minimal security features (ie password protected notebooks).

I have MacJournal and used for a while. But I am in the process of using Tinderbox for many kinds of activity (including teaching courses). Thus, I keep a journal in TB. It is much more expensive, but it has so much more capability and power to expand to whatever I need.
