Airport is Apple-speak for "wireless". Your iMac (if it was made anytime in the last 5 years or so), should have a built in Airport adapter. You can connect to most WiFi networks using the built-in Airport adapter.

If you have the choice between ethernet or wireless connection choose the ethernet connection for better performance.
