Hey so i bought the New Mac Pro a few weeks ago and i would like to take advantage of the new thunderbolt port...are there hard drives that will be compatible or even flash drives???? that would be sweet?

I"m looking to use this awesome port that i have...And i cant seem to find anything that is compatible? Or is it too soon for there to be compatible devices?

It's going to be a few months before we see the first devices that can take advantage of the new port. It'll be a few years before it becomes mainstream. You're literally on the cutting edge, it's going to be a while before everybody catches up.

I wish Apple made a ThunderBolt iPod/phone connector.. Surely an iPhone 4 can handle higher speeds than USB 2.0

I doubt it. Its not what the phone can "handle" it was designed with USB 2.0 and only USB 2.0 (I dont think it can even do firewire but Im not sure).

But the dock connector has room to grow so eventually I think they will (or at least should) add thunderbolt support.

Wondered about that myself since they are the first to announce the port and
SSD which would make it incredibly fast unless intentionally crippled.

Alright well i guess i'll just keep my eye out... I would like to find Ideally some kind of Portable ThunderBolt Hard Drive or even Flash Drive. I'm sick of these ridiculously slow Data Transfer rates...
