Scanning with HP 1215

Hi,

I'm a new member of MacForum and this is my first post.

I have a HP psc 1215 all-in-One printer running on a Mac OS X. The scanning function worked fine until I updated my Mac to OS X version 10.5.8.

What can I do to restore the scanning function? Or do I need to buy a new scanner?;P

You likely need to download updated drivers from HP. Have you tried doing that yet?

Indeed. I tried to download a new driver from HP:

Software & Driver Downloads HP PSC 1215 All-in-One Printer - HP Customer Care (United States - English)

But none of the drivers listed is for the Mac OS X v.10.5 and all but one are print-only (I need the scanning function).

So after downloading the lastest driver you did not get an icon in your dock and when you
click on it in the far right upper corner their is not a scanner icon right next to the printer
icon and if you click on the scanner icon it does not open the scan menu? The reason I asked is because mine was a combined driver download for my model C 6380 and it works as I stated above.

My version of OS X is 10.5.8. I can't find it in the driver list proposed by HP.

Ok went to HP's download site and look under software (1) available for 10.5 but if you
look at the end it states scanning not supported for 10.5 with this model or 1200 series
amongst others.
