Migration Assistant

I am trying to move all my files using Migration Assistant.

I've selected about 15gb worth, but it's taking a lifetime to transfer and there's no way of knowing what stage it's at and it's been going around four hours now.

The blue bar seems to have stuck halfway along, but is still shimmering.
I have around another 500gb to transfer.

Does this slow transfer seem right to anyone?

500GB is a lot of data. What are you using to do the transfer?

I'll second the question... what are you using to do the transfer? If you're attempting to transfer 500 GB or more of data using the migration assistant, it's going to take forever - especially if the transfer is at USB 2 speeds.

I have 500 GB to transfer and I've transferred 10 GB in about 4 hours.
It's broken again and I think this migration assistant can't handle it.
I'm going to have to send it into a workshop. Thanks anyway.
