I have a 27" imac i5 and the mouse has started being stupid. It has the latest Snow Leopard updates.
First if I clicked it would not "unclick" and no matter what I did it just moved the icon around the screen.
I have fitted new batteries even though mouse had 46% power.

After several power off's it now will display drop down lists but mouse buttons do not work. IE I cannot do anything except look at drop down menus/lists.

Can anyone point me in the right direction.

The mouse may be dirty or defective. A Google search about how to clean the Magic Mouse brings up various results which may or may not be helpful.

Do the search and give it a try. If cleaning and adjustments do not work, the mouse may be defective.

Thanks chscag, I will do that. However I left the system shutdown overnight and it is working fine today. Time will tell.

Thanks for your advice.
