On a windows based PC you just click the button at the top and it expands the window to the full size of the screen. When I press the green button at the top on my Macbook air it doesn't actually expand it all the way...how do I set this up?

taskbar

When you maximize a window in Windows XP, it covers up the entire desktop except for your taskbar

I realize that...when you press the green circle on the mac is does not fill up the screen (excluding the menu bar at top)

Unfortunately OS X for what-ever reason does not support full screen natively, however OS X Lion is apparently going to have full support for this feature.

Hope this helps

Currently, the green button will expand a window sufficiently to display its content, and no larger. Only click it once!

I found something called right click that seems to work.
