Hi all,

Our mini is running a bit slow as of late - I'm not sure whether that is just psychological or whether it actually is running slower, so I was wondering whether you could tell me if the RAM etc could do with an upgrade, and how much it might help performance?

We use it mainly for plex, itunes, iphoto and general web browsing.

Hare are 2 screenshots of the RAM usage during a typical day in the life of our mini...!

How do I know if we need more RAM/that the RAM will be of any use?

Thanks very much

You could do with more RAM. See all that stuff on the right column...vm size, swap...that is activity which is written to/from disk...which slows things down.

Do a ram upgrade, whatever you can afford, but not from apple. I slapped 8 gb in my mini...from amazon. Much cheaper than apple. With 8 gigs, my page outs and swap are at zero...even while running a windows 7 virtual machine...

That's a cool screenshot. Where did you get that.
