I recently downloaded Wondershare's free youtube downloader for the mac, and instead of uninstalling it properly, I foolishly just put it into the trash and deleted it. (i'm new to macs, sorry).

Now when I visit any video on YouTube I get a small "download" button appearing in the corner. How can I remove this? I searched up other forums relating to this problem but no of the answers worked for me. The problem is annoying so any help is greatly appreciated :) thanks

i also heard about deleting the safari add-ons but I have no idea what to do about that

Reinstall it and once that is done, uninstall it properly (whether this be by using the included uninstaller or following the proper procedure).

I have tried to reinstall it but when I do it says that delete the old/already installed version first. However, I can't find the already installed version anywhere on my Mac. I've even typed it in the search on "Finder", and the application folder, but still no clue where any files connected to the software are.

Not on my Mac so can't give exact folder names, but under library>applications you will probably find a folder titled Wondershare or something like that. Delete it and should take care of the problem.

EDIT: I'll try to remember to look later and post back with more specific answer

Sorry, not willing to install this one.

Look in both Library folders - at root and in your home folder

Try looking in:
Applications
Application Support
Internet Plugins
Launch Agents
Preferences
Safari / Extensions

no luck with that also bobtomay. This is so frustrating, there's no files left except the "download" button appearing in safari over every video/picture that I view.

Don't think it will work since you deleted the app itself, but have you tried running the uninstaller?

Delete all of the following:

at root
Users / Shared / wondershare... (two files here, one is hidden)

all of the below are in your home folder
~ Library / Application Support / Wondershare...
~ Library / Preferences - com.wondershare.AllMyTube.plist
~ Documents / Wondershare...
~ Movies / Wondershare...

then reinstall and use it's uninstaller
