I filmed using a canon XH A1 for the first time yesterday and so i'm not really familiar with them.
I just used a standard firewire cable and connected it to my macbook laptop but final cut pro + imovie didn't recognise that the camera was plugged in. I had the camera set to VCR/Play...is there some sort of button on the camera that I have to press to switch to output to firewire cable or something???? I have tried googling it but none of the answers have helped so far! So if you can help that would be awesome!
