i posted this to the hardware forum as well, as i don't know if this is a hardware or software issue, but please read below:
i have a brand new 15" mac book pro. i7. with OS 10.6.7
on occasion, when it goes to sleep, it will not wake back up.
meaning, the screen will go black when in sleep mode, and when i tap the mousepad, or keyboard, the display does not come back on.
the backlighting on the keyboard lights up, and the drive indicator on the front edge of the machine also lights up, but the display does not recover.
i have to do a hard shut down with the power button in order to restart.
does anyone know what is going on, and how to fix it?
thanks.
