I have an Elements HD, with backup files, that I need to transfer to my new Macbook Pro. Am I able to convert the .wbcat file so that I can open up the file catalogue? Tips? Tricks?

Not any help here. I'm not aware of anything that will open those except Windows System Restore.

Thanks bobtomay. If there's nothing to open a wbcat on a Mac, do you have any suggestions on how to (efficiently) pull files over from an external harddrive that was once hooked up to a Pc? I don't think I have the patience to go through so many zip files manually....

Am assuming then you can browse the drive/files inside the backup?

And just looking for something that will batch unzip?

I can get into the drive and files. It's just that there seems to be no organization other than the catalogue file which, of course, I can't open. The backups were done weekly, so I have versions going back two + years. What I'm looking at when I start opening the backup versions, is a gigantic number of zip files. I can open the files individually and can see jpegs, mp3s, etc (this is a home system - nothing out of the ordinary in terms of file types). I'm just concerned about making sure that when I extract all the files that I can actually organize them as needed, and I also don't miss anything.

Here's a link with several options. Sounds like you've got a few days work ahead of you no matter which route you go.

Maybe check back here for the next day or so. See if anyone has done what you're needing to do and already found the easiest way.
