snow leopard mail client problems

I am having a problem with the mac snow leopard mail client. I cannot send out mail with a pdf attached.However, I have no problem sending out mail with excel or jpeg attachments. I get this message each time :

The Exchange 2007 connection to server “server name” failed.

Select a different outgoing mail server from the list below or click Try Later to leave the message in your Outbox until it can be sent.


Any light that can be shed on this would be helpful.

How large is the pdf in question? There could be a restriction on file sizes on your email server that is rejecting the email from being sent.

Our size restriction is 20mb. This attachment was under that size.

Have you contacted your email administrator? If other things work, just not PDF, seems to me to be a server issue.

I was able to send the pdf out via OWA from that same mac client.

problem solved:

Went to \Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\ClientAccess\exchweb\ews'. Selected the file 'web.config' . Searched for ''maxRequestLength' and changed default value from 13420 to desired size. Rebooted server and problem solved.
