blue screen after update

................................ OLD: MBP 13" Mid 09 .......... NEW: MBP 13" Mid 12 ..........
i just did the most recent update from apple and i let it do its thing and now i have a blue screen with a black pinwheel thing. it has been like this for 30 min
WHAT DO I DO

Which update did you download? And have you been making Time Machine backups?
