Hello all,

I have a newer 13", 160GB model of a MacBook Pro. Having only 5GB's left, I'm thinking of upgrading to 500GB with this drive: Amazon.com: Hitachi Travelstar 2.5 Inch 500 GB 7200 RPM SATA II 16 MB Cache Internal Hard Drive 0S02858: Electronics

Any thoughts of whether or not this a good/trusty internal drive? Any other recommendations?

Also, my boyfriend has an older 17", 250GB model of a MacBook Pro and he'd like to upgrade to 500GB after having a few GB's left to spare.

Would the Hitachi Travelstar model work for his computer as well? If not, which hard drive is needed?

Thank you so much!
Anna

That hard drive will work for both machines. So, yes.
