Macbook, iMac G5, iPad, iPhone 4, iPod (MANY)!
I just payed $3.89 a gallon today; I'm in NW Ohio. And I know quite a few people from Michigan come over to Ohio to pay for gas. :p

You should try to join a Warehouse Club, like Costco or Sam's Club. I know Costco gas was like $3.70 today

I wish it were that cheap! $3.99 per gallon, right?
Welcome to the UK. £1.41 PER LITRE, so £6.41 a gallon for Diesel (petrol is only just cheaper at 1.39 a litre)
That's over $10 a gallon. My firms van costs £105 a week to fill, glad I don't pay.

$3.89 per gallon last time I filled up.

My mileage reimbursement is 50 cents per mile. Gov't now says the total cost to operate an average vehicle is 59 cents per mile. (recent report) Soon that will be higher.

I live about 20 minutes North of downtown Phoenix, AZ. Gas by my house at Fry's (grocery store owned by Kroger - has it's own gas station) is $3.57 for 79 Unleaded.
I have a Fry's MasterCard that I use for everything I buy everywhere and get fuel points for each dollar I spend. Plus double and triple points for buying Fry's brand products at their store. When I reach 100 points I get ¢.10 off each gallon. If I pay with my MasterCard, I get an additional ¢.05 off. So I fill up about once every 10-12 days and always get ¢.15 off per gallon. It's a great deal and helps considering how high prices are these days.

Just so I can actually contribute, gas is between $1.22 and $1.24/L here in Ottawa which is about $4.60/gallon for you imperial unit people. That's genuinely outrageous - how can gas be so expensive in a country with the second largest oil reserves in the world (source)? I realize that a significant portion gets shipped out of the country but you'd think that someone could make a sizable portion of it available here.

It's $3.89 or $3.99 here. I can't even fill up now - seems like most of the pumps shut off automatically at $75. It's a bit annoying.

costs me £6 to fill up my tank, and it can take me around 80-90 miles before i need to fill up again. (i can get to london on half a tank.)

If you want to save money on fuel, buy a motorbike. lower costs (to insure and fill up) and lower carbon footprint, if you care about such things.

$4.15 for 93 octane premium. However, my neighbors and I stockpiled it back at ~$2.79 a gallon in case things were to get too hairy. I burn about 3 gallons a week, so I'm good for about 4 months after my vehicle's gas tank runs dry.

Motorcycles can certainly save fuel costs - and insurance for them is less expensive than an auto. However, there are many inconveniences that go along with being a bike rider. Heat, cold, other drivers trying to run you down, just to name a few....

Also consider the cost of a good motorcycle. Not inexpensive by any means.

all very true indeed. you cant carry heavy or large stuff around either, but for a lot of people a car is over kill.

bikes usually range around £1000 - £10000. cars go up further than that.

but hey, theres nothing wrong with public transport, but it can be expensive.
