I agree. Especially with this statement:
Gartenberg is right, I don’t think Steve Jobs meant “iPads will replace desktop computers in the next 12 months” — rather, something more like “We’ve seen the numbers, and the iPad is clearly a device different from computers that average users actually want to buy”.

Different to the traditional computer.
Cause the ipad is still a computer. Just a touch screen one.

I think this is mincing words a bit. In the strictest sense, lots of things are computers, are controlled by computers, or possess computers within them. Television sets, remote controls, telephones, and more. Given that, I think it's not at all inappropriate to talk about tablets as their own type of device.
