I agree... very strange

However, It makes sence because the iBooks were not updated in a while and are due for an update when the iBooks were updated just a few weeks ago... this fact that the iBook can handle more ram then the 12 inch powerbook will not remain after the powerbooks are updated... although I don't want the powerbooks to be updated becasue that means that my computer is getting old, even tho its only the 1.5ghz model with superdrive from december.

Am I the only one who doesn't find this strange? :)

So the 12" iBook has a higher max RAM...big deal. The 12" PowerBook still has:
Faster bus speed
Faster processor
Bigger HD
Better video card
Line-in
...and much more

(.......but I suppose the rumor hounds will say how this can only mean that the PowerBooks are going to be updated soon....<rolleyes>)

All this information is true, however that the fact that the powerbook has always had more max ram then the iBook. This is because the powerbook has always been a heavier system with more power and the fact the the iBook makes no sence to have more ram then it.

The powerbook is due for an update anyway, but this just proves it. The powerbook is towards the end of the product cycle and the iBook is catching up. I actually would not be suprised if they actually dropped the 12inch powerbook all together.

DVI out is the big reason that I would consider a PB over an iBook.

The 12 inch PowerBook dosen't seem to get as much attention from apple as the rest of the line... in fact the only mac that gets less is the eMac, IMO
