Hello I have an iMac G5 with no iSight camera that had the mother board replaced for blown caps about 6 months ago.

For a week now I'm getting this type of error when trying to boot up.

panic(cpu 0 caller 0x002E1EC4): Unable to find driver for this platform: "PowerMac8,2".

Latest stack backtrace for cpu 0:
Backtrace:

Proceeding back via exception chain:
Exception stat (sc=0x00A2E280)
PC=0x00000000; MSR=0x0000D030; DAR=0x00000000; DSISR=0x00000000; LR=0x000000000; R1=0x00000000; XCP=0x00000000 (unknown)

Kernel version:
DarwinKernel Version 8.11.0 Wed Oct 10 18:26:00 PDT 2007; ROOT :XNU-792.24.17~1/REALEASE_PPC

Then it goes into a debbuger - no dubugger installed and looks like it runs the same test as above and releases different number id's than already listed.

I' removed both ram sticks and computer won't boot up put back the apple stick and get the above message.

Also in the back ground get the multi language message that says "You need to restart...."

Fan is running full throttle.

Any suggestions?

Second Message after another reboot (Same Poster)

Rebooted iMac from above now I have a white screen after apple logo with black text saying:

Invalid memory access at %SRR0: 00000000.05610d04 %SRR1: 10000000.00003030

Welcome to Open Firmware, the system time and date is : 04/09/2011 16:10:08

To continue booting, type "mac-boot" and press return.
To shut down... you get the picture

tried "mac-boot" and got black then white screen with a repeating row of lines ------------------ -------------------- ------------------- six in total across the screen fan still runnning at jet speed.

Ok so more update for anyone that can help.

I took the apple ram stick out and replaced it with the other after market but Apple installed Ram stick and the mac wants to start get the normal apple start then the blue screen then the multi language message to restart.

Tried a second time only get to the gray screen before "You need to restart..." message comes up.

Third attempt apple start screen and same as second. Is it possible both ram sticks are bad? or is it deeper in the mac?

Take it back to wherever replaced the logic board. Sounds much deeper than memory and you have tried moving the modules around.
