• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

I have a dvd project that is 5 gigabytes acording to the little graph thing in dvd studio pro. I really want to be able to fit it on my 4.7 gigabyte dvd without haveing to recompress it in compressor, it will take forever that way. The video is an avi file and that is the only thing on the dvd aside from audio. Is there a way that when DVD Studio encodes it to burn it will beable t make it a little lower quality so it will fit on a 4.7gb dvd.

-thanks

I am not yet a good user of dvd studio pro but I have been learing... I have been working with it for a couple months now, and I do not believe I have ever seen that option.. wait it out one more day on the forums to see if anybody else migh have an answer.. if not you will have to recompress it.. (if your menus are flashy they take up alot of space and thefore make them more plain and it will take up less space)
