Is it just me, or is this a really nice app? I have to give MS props on this one!

It's a great app. I wandered aimlessly around it for the last hour or so after downloading.

It would be nice if MS would release a version of Word or Powerpoint for the iPad but that might be asking too much from Mr. Ballmer.

Actually they're working on it and have been for at least 6 months now.

That's awesome. I really thought that was a huge, missed opportunity.

I'll be anxious to see how they price it whenever they do get in finished.

I've met some of the Bing team, they are good people and MS is (wisely for a change) giving them a pretty free hand to do what they want to do. This is quite rare for MS, but it seems to have worked out well.

Tried using it to find new restaurants in my area yesterday. It bit the bullit big time for that.

You mean you tried to "Bing and decide", but couldn't make a decision? ;)

No, the list of restaurants it came up with fell so far short of any other app I have used for this, it was pathetic.

Now this was from the Maps area allowing for it to use my current location. There could be other options to search that I haven't tried yet. I had not experimented with Bing in any form or fashion at all previously. This was my first exposure to it, and it certainly didn't fill me with any enthusiasm about it.

(Just the already installed Maps app can locate around 10 times more restaurants than Bing. And Maps will change what it finds based on the Zoom factor and exactly where I have the map centered in my area. Bing really does none of that, and really looks like they have about 6 restaurants in downtown Dallas paying them $$, because those pop up no matter where I center the map on the screen, incl'g when that area is not within my search area. Bing auto re-centers the map to show me those 6 restaurants.)

Oh - I thought it was bling for iPad.

I grabbed the app - it seems pretty slick so far. My restaurant search seemed OK for the first shot - but I am in a small city in northern Colorado - nothing like searching in Dallas.
