OSX archive and install

I am trying to do an archive and install on my powerbook. However the installation process seems to hit a snag and gets stuck about 1/24 the way through verifying the destination disk (the second step of the install). Can anyone help me?

Does it freeze? Verifying the disk can take quite a long time.

It does not freeze, it just says it encountered problems and to try installing again.

Just try skipping verification, or make sure there are no dirt or fingerprints on the disc.

I'd take it out, wipe it down (in straight lines away from the hole) with a cloth and try again. If you still have the error try skipping verification and see if it'll install anyway.
