2010 iMac Minidisplay port

So i bought an adapter to put my samsung monitor to my iMac, but the adapter i bought had a display port that was way to big! Which one do I need to buy?!? Help!

Your Samsung monitor probably has a DVI input. So you would need the Apple (or third party) mini display port adapter to DVI. And then a DVI cable from there to your Samsung. Try the LINK to monoprice.com as they stock just about every type of cable there is.

That's why you need the correct adapter. Read my first reply again and visit the site I linked for you.

Thanks but one problem I live in the Uk. I think i am just going to go to the apple store and get one there

That's fine. Apple charges quite a bit more for the adapter though. Perhaps you can find another store which sells them. Just make sure you get the correct one - and don't forget you'll also need the longer cable from the adapter to your Samsung monitor.

Yep, a displayport and the mini displayport (which your Mac has) are 2 different sizes.
