I'm a Mac newbee. I need some help.
When I use "Command-Tab" to show all running apps, how do I open one up when they appear on the desktop? I tried to simply use my mouse pointer and click on it but it won't open. If I use the tab key and select one it won't open. The only way I have found is to go to the dock and select it as I would if it wasn't running anyway. Thanks for the help!

If any app is open and visible, i.e., not minimized, when simply CMD+TAB'ing to the window and stopping on a given window should bring that into focus even if it's on a different space. However, if the application's window is minimized, then I've found that stopping on the application's icon doesn't restore the window, you have to then click on the application in the dock to restore the window..

Yes, if you've minimized a window to the Dock it will stay there until you click on it. If you want an application out of your way without minimizing it, just use Command-H to hide it from view. When you choose it with the application switcher, it will automatically reappear.

There's also Command + ` (next to the one/! button) to cycle through windows of the currently focused application. For instance, if Chrome is open with multiple windows, you can push Command + ` to cycle between them.

Nice find! It's a bit awkward but it is frustrating sometimes when a window is minimized and I can't get to it.
