Up until recently I was able to hight a PDF document on preview with ease. However, now I am unable to hightlight on the same document. Can anyone help me figure out what the reason is?

THanks

Welcome to the Mac Forums.

What have you installed since? Did you install the Adobe Reader by chance?

Did you save the document in a different format? Highlighting only works if the document contains text and if it is saved in a different format (such as an image), the text ceases to be text and becomes a picture. I've tried to read many journal articles that, although are comprised of text, have been created as a picture and thus, I was unable to highlight it.

thanks for the reply. Appreciate them. I have not installed adobe and the document is still a pdf file. I can open other files and still hightlight. The pdf document is not read only. It says it is write & read. Any other thoughts?
