I am planing on sharing a external hard drive between Mac and PC and I need full RW access. My plan is to use Parigon NTFS. How safe is this, I heard that using NTFS on Mac can cause data corruption but this may just apply to free version.

Paragon NTFS is perfectly safe to use. I use it myself and so do lots of other folks who share data because of dual booting or having both a Mac and PC.

It's the free version of NTFS 3G which should be avoided as it has been known to cause corruption.

Seconded, I have used Paragon for a while now with not so much as a hiccup, and as chscag says I have also heard alot of reports about the free versions of such software causing corruption and data loss.
