Okay I bought the $1,499 model today, and love it so far, I am getting ready to get rid of my MacBook Pro(basically I wanted more power from my computer), its got the i3 processor, and 1TB HDD, and the ATI graphics card in it, can I play some decent games on this thing? And also, I plan on doing video editing, and photo editing as well, and do my school work, will this do the job?

It definitely feels much more powerful than my MacBook Pro, and so far I enjoy it quite a bit.

Why not just do it instead of asking? It's not going to hurt you machine. I promise.

Your new Mac is more than capable of doing all that you listed.

I know but I don't have any software yet, or bought any games... or I wouldn't be asking.

I don't know anything about games, I'm sorry; but I do know quite a bit about photo and video editing using, iPhoto, Aperture 3, iMovie and FC Express.

All work perfectly on the 21.5 and the specs you mentioned are "better" than mine and will cope with ease.

Have fun exploring your lovely new machine and enjoy. You will not regret your purchase.

You'll most likely have no problems with whatever you throw at it, but for any readers about to make the plunge it's more usual to decide what software you really want to run then buy the hardware that at least meets the min specs required.

Ok cool yeah I was thinking of running Apeture, and Final Cut Studio on my iMac, since I'll begin school very shortly. Some of the games I plan on playing are probably Call of Duty, and perhaps some from the App Store.

Thanks guys

Is it pretty easy to upgrade the RAM? I'd rather do it myself, considering Apple charges an arm and a leg for RAM.

I bought a 21.5" iMac recently myself (named it "Sputnik") and its running games, video editing software, photo editing software, Parellels for running Windows, etc. Works great. I upgraded the RAM from 4 to 12GB, Crucial, and it definitely helped.
