How to rip a DVD (including menus)

I use handbrake most of the time, but I am trying to burn a DVD for my nephew. Its an instructional DVD on learning the alphabet so its interactive from the menu screen. Typically just having the "main feature" is fine with handbrake, but since handbrake doesn't rip the menu I would like some input on other programs.
I have just downloaded mac the ripper but I am not sure how to go about it.
any help is much appreciated
