I'm having a minor but irritating issue mounting my NAS drive at startup.

I've added the various NAS volumes to the Login Items via Preferences > User Accounts and the drives mount OK.

My problem is that as they mount a Finder window opens for each of the 5 volumes. I've checked the Hide option in Login Items and it makes no difference, in fact it's exactly the same if I leave it unchecked.

Is there any way to mount the volumes without it opening 5 Finder windows?

Thanks

Use Automator to create a custom app.

Use the "Get Specified Servers" then "Connect to Servers" options under "File and Folders" library.

Save the app somewhere and use that as a login item. Be sure you run it once first and add the credentials to the keychain.

Thanks, that's exactly what I wanted. Simple to set up and it works perfectly.

I've ordered a book on Apple Scripting and Automator.
