My friend spilled coffee on his computer and i am trying to help him out. I disassembled and cleaned everything very carefully with 91% isopropyl alcohol.

The Hard Drive and CD Drive are both working. The computer starts, apple logo appears for a second and then everything shuts off.

I know its probably the motherboard, but i want to be 100% sure. Any Ideas on how i can test the memory and logic board? Could it be the CPU?

Has he got the original discs that came with the MBP? If so then try using the hardware test disc to see if that can see any problems.

Hope this helps
