I installed a 500Gb drive into my iMac G4 Today, then cloned it with disk utility from the old drive. the old drive does not have this problem, but on the new drive, it will not allow you to change the icon or the color of the text under the drive in finder. Any ideas?

No worries - merged and in the right forum (as far as I'm concerned).

Just figured it out! it had somthing to do with the disk permissions, in finder i needed to get info, sharing and permissions, then I just set it so everyone can read and write :) :)
