Just use iTunes, select your track, then go to

Advanced>Convert selection to...

To make sure you have it set to AAC, go to:

iiTunes>Preferences>Importing

then select AAC in the "Import Using" drop down menu.

Highlight all of them and do what D3v1L80Y said.

If you already have your songs in mp3 there is no point to converting them to AAC, you could lose some quality and there isn't any compression advantages of going from mp3 -> aac. Just import your things from now on in AAC and you will be fine

By a small amount but if you already have your files in mp3 you will degrade the quality by re-encoding the mp3's.

If you have the original source (The CD). Then I'd just delete the MP3's and re-encode as AAC.

It'll take some time if you have a lot of music, but you wont be loosing any sound quality and getting the benefits of AAC.

Personally I hope Apple allows iPods to play OGG files in the future.

I have a TREMENDOUS amount of cds. The last time I attempted to count and archive my collection, I had 2000+ cds. Of course this was like a year ago, and since then I've purchased, on average, 1 or 2 cds a week so as you can see, my collection is pretty large. It'd be pretty time consuming to convert all of that to AAC, but it was also pretty time consuming to convert it to 192kbs mp3. For the mp3 conversion, I paid my little cousin 100 bucks to convert the 30,000+ songs I have. He was ecstatic, as I was... ****, that's A LOT of songs... hehe. But if the advantage isn't so great, I won't even bother... thanks anyway
