Yeah, anyone in the know at the time knew that Android had virtually no apps at that time, but I think Apple was just hedging their bets in case some developers were quickly rolling out some crummy apps right after Xoom release.

Even over estimated at 100 apps, the point was made.

When you have thousands of apps available on the market, as well as hundreds of other available via different source on the iphone/iOS devices, the difference of 17-100 makes no difference. I have a feeling though, that he might have stated 100 due to HC applications that are still in production, but not available to customers. That has to be true, because they aren't just going to pop up out of nowhere.
