Hello,

I currently use a MacBook (white), 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 160GB, 2GB RAM which I bought in Spring 2008. I am looking to install a larger hard drive but I would like to know what hard drives could be installed into my model MacBook?

Many thanks.

I personally recommend Hitachi, but really it doesn't matter. What you are looking for is a 9.5mm (height, very important), 2.5" laptop drive. The largest available for your machine is 750GB.

Do not be tempted by the 1TB laptop drives -- they won't fit and generate too much heat (even if "crammed in") to be used safely in MacBooks.

The procedure for changing a MacBook's HD depends on which model we're talking about, but the one you describe should be easy-peasy. Google "white macbook hard drive upgrade" and you should be able to find step-by-step instructions.
