mac mini won't load dvd's -help!?!

Mine is a mini 2.1 running current os w/out snow leopard. About a week ago it would not read a brand new copy of Unstoppable rented from Blockbuster, the Megamind, Knight and Day, and now it seems not to be reading any. Is this a bad superdrive for sure?

Welcome to the Mac Forums.

Have you tried another master DVD other then one rented from BB? If it won't read any DVDs, try blowing a blast or two of air from a can of compressed air into the drive opening. If that doesn't work, you could have a bad optical drive.

I had the same issue with my iMac, and it did turn out to be a bad optical drive.
