I just updated my Mac and now the date has ben set back to December 31, 2000 and I'm being prompted if I want to allow "configd" and "mDNS...." access to my computer. Anyone else have this?
configd and mDNSResponder are "safe" processes so to speak - you don't have to worry about them being malicious. They're part of the OS. See here for more info (warning, it's kind of nerdy ).
Not sure why things have been reset and I haven't heard about anyone else experiencing a similar issue. You might want to check the "Set date and time automatically" so that if your date and time do mess up later, it will be auto-corrected for you.

BrilliantEssentially, it tells other computers "Hey, I'm over here. I have some stuff I'd like to share."
Did you back up before your update? Never update any software (especially the OS) without backing up first.
