Every time I now turn the machine on the clock resets to Jan 2001 and Airport forgets the password. As soon as I enter the latter it seems to connect (to where?) and update the time/date correctly.

Have found a few threads regarding similar issues with MBPs but none for anyone with any kind of desktop machine. PRAM cleaned 2 days ago and that hasn't changed anything. No idea what else it could be?

Anything I should do? Any weird battery issue that could be the cause?

Thanks

Sounds like the internal cmos battery has died on you.
