Besides that people are crying out censorship, I'm surprised that the majority of people are against pulling the apps. I know in Ohio, the news channels do report on DUI checkpoints in the area ahead of time. That can be a good thing being that it might make a few people stay off the roads, if they are not sober. The same could be said for the apps, it makes one more cautious.

I'm struggling why people are against being subjected to the sobriety checkpoints, the checkpoints could save a life in the end.

We went through a like period years ago when the first radar detectors appeared on the market. I remember that some state law agencies went so far as to confiscate them from speeders they caught by other means. Even today they're outlawed in some states. Virginia and DC come to mind.

I object to them because you're assumed to be guilty (being drunk) until you prove your innocence (demonstrating your sobriety). It's a practice in direct opposition to the rights and traditions of most Western societies.

Stupid senators. Don't local papers print the location of DUI checkpoints ahead of time?

Hey, US Senators. How about you do your jobs and get a budget going instead of shutting down the government and stopping the pay for the troops? I'd think a DUI checkpoint App would be the least of these bozos worries at this point.

It's all a shell game to them. Keep the masses looking elsewhere while they continue to not do their job.

I haven't touched an alcoholic drink in 20 years, so a DUI checkpoint doesn't concern me the least from the perspective of guilt. What DOES bother me is that I can get stopped in order to prove that I wasn't doing anything wrong. I think child porn is a despicable atrocity, but I don't want government officials dropping by my place anytime they want, searching my computers to make me prove that I'm not distributing child porn.
